Francesca Varutti - Practice Manager/Director

 

Francesca qualified as a Social Worker in 1987 and has worked with children and families since this time in the fields of child protection assessment and intervention.  In 1999 she began working part time with children who had experienced trauma and/or displayed harmful sexual behaviour and then as a full time practitioner from 2003.  For periods of time Francesca acted up as a Manager for both the local authority and the NSPCC and in 2012 became the Practice Manager and Co- Director of NewStart.  Francesca has provided risk assessments for abusing and non abusing parents and assessed parents' capacity to manage the impact of trauma.  Since 2013 Francesca has also provided fostering Form F, Connected Person's and Step Parent assessments.

Carol Harley - Children's Practitioner

 

Carol qualified as a Social Worker in 1998 working within Local Authority LAC, Child Protection and CIN teams.  From 1999 until 2012 she was employed by the NSPCC working therapeutically with children who had experienced trauma and/or had displayed harmful sexual behaviour.  In 2012 Carol joined NewStart as a Children's Practitioner offering similar services to those provided whilst at the NSPCC.  From 2013 Carol has also provided fostering Form F, Connected Person's and Step Parent assessments.

Helen Torrington - Children's Practitioner

 

Helen  gained her DipSW whilst working for SACCS as a Life Story worker between 2001 and 2004.  From 2004 to 2012 Helen was a Children’s Services Practitioner with the NSPCC working therapeutically with children between the ages of 4 to 18 years who displayed Harmful Sexual Behaviour and/or had suffered trauma. In April 2012 she became a Children’s Practitioner for NewStart Networks offering similar services to those previously provided by the NSPCC. From 2013 Helen has also undertaken fostering Form F and Step Parent assessments.

Nicki Pitts - Office Manager/Director

 

From 1999 until 2012 Nicki was part of the NSPCC dual remit service in Shropshire providing administrative and office management support to a team of Social Workers engaged in work with children, young people and families who had experienced trauma and/or harmful sexual behaviour.  In 2012 Nicki became the Office Manager and Co-Director of NewStart.
